The Experience

Is there a weight limit for indoor skydiving?

Guests weighing between 260 and 300 pounds may require an evaluation at check-in to determine whether they can fly safely. Guests weighing more than 300 pounds cannot participate. High Flight add-ons are available only to flyers weighing 260 pounds or less.

Is there a minimum height requirement?

Most iFLY locations do not have a minimum height requirement. However, iFLY Paramus and iFLY Edison require flyers to be at least 40 inches tall.

What is a High Flight?

A High Flight is an add-on in which an instructor safely guides the flyer higher and faster inside the wind tunnel. Availability depends on weight and other applicable flight restrictions.

Do first-time flyers have to watch the preflight video?

Yes. All first-time flyers must watch the preflight video to learn essential safety information and basic flying techniques.

Can I eat before indoor skydiving?

Yes. Most guests can eat normally before flying and do not experience nausea, motion sickness, or a dropping sensation.

Can I wear glasses while flying?

Yes. iFLY provides goggles designed to fit over eyeglasses.

Do I need to remove watches and jewelry?

Yes. Remove jewelry, watches, hair accessories, and anything else that could become loose in the wind tunnel. Empty your pockets before flying. Lockers are usually available, but valuable items are best left at home.

Can first-time flyers do flips or tricks?

Flips and advanced tricks are reserved for experienced flyers. First-time guests may learn basic movements, such as turning or adjusting altitude, under the guidance of an instructor.

Why do flyers wear flight suits?

Flight suits help instructors safely guide and support flyers inside the wind tunnel.

What should I wear to iFLY?

Wear comfortable clothes and secure, lace-up athletic shoes. Pants and a collarless shirt are recommended because a flight suit will be worn over your clothing. Long hair should be secured low enough for a helmet to fit properly.

How long does the full experience take?

First-time flyers should plan to spend approximately 90 minutes at iFLY. This includes check-in, training, gearing up, flying, and wrapping up after the session. Completing the waiver in advance may reduce check-in time.

When should I arrive?

Guests should arrive on time, with arrival approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled reservation recommended. Sessions begin promptly, and late arrivals may not be able to fly. IF you have a group of 6 or more we do ask for 30 minutes before your reservation time.

Can I fly with my friends or family members?

Friends and family members can usually be scheduled in the same session, but first-time guests enter the wind tunnel one at a time with an instructor. Spectators can watch from the observation area.

How old do you have to be to fly at iFLY?

Children can fly beginning at age three. Flyers younger than 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Who can participate in indoor skydiving?

Most people in reasonable health and physical condition can fly. Restrictions may apply based on weight, pregnancy, hard casts or prosthetics, and certain medical conditions involving the head, neck, back, shoulders, or heart. Guests with concerns should contact their local iFLY before booking.

Is it difficult to breathe inside the wind tunnel?

No. Flyers can breathe normally through their mouth or nose. The sensation is similar to putting your head outside a moving car window.

How long does each flight last?

Each flight lasts 60 seconds. The total amount of flight time depends on the package purchased.

Is indoor skydiving safe?

Most guests do not find it scary. There is no jumping from an aircraft and no falling sensation.

How should I wear my hair?

Your hairstyle must allow the helmet to fit securely. Long hair should be tied into a low bun, with a low braided bun recommended.
